Lyrics for Song of Songs – Shir Hashirim

3. Song of Songs                                                                                                                                                 Shir Hashirim (4:32)

One of the books of the Hebrew bible, “Song of Songs,” reflects on male and female love united on many levels. Kabbalists interpreted Song of Songs as a metaphor for the love between God and Israel.

Just to hold you, feel your heart beat next to mine,
Just to kiss you, a love like this is hard to find.
Since the day you came my way I knew our love was here to stay,
Growing stronger every day, I never thought I’d love this way.

Shir Hashirim Song of Songs, your love is a dream where I belong.
Shir Hashirim Song of Songs, this is where I belong. (x2)

What I felt from the start, the thunder in my heart,
the lightening in your eyes, you are the one for me.
It was always meant to be, from now until eternity. In this love I believe.
Our love keeps lifting me higher, our love takes me places that I’ve never dreamed.
As the moon turns to the sun, with you I feel as one.

Shir Hashirim Song of Songs, your love is a dream where I belong.
Shir Hashirim Song of Songs, this is where I belong. (x2)

Your eyes keep me alive, give me strength to survive.
You shine just like the sun, it’s kind of like being in heaven.
I want you to be mine, got my attention all the time.
Your smile is so divine, a love like this is so hard to find.

Shir Hashirim Song of Songs, your love is a dream where I belong.
Shir Hashirim Song of Songs, this is where I belong. (x2)

Just to hold you, feel your heart beat next to mine.
Just to kiss you, a love like this is hard to find.
Since the day you came my way I knew our love was here to stay.
Growing stronger every day, I never thought I’d love this way.

Shir Hashirim Song of Songs, your love is a dream where I belong.
Shir Hashirim Song of Songs, this is where I belong. (x2)
